WHO WE ARE
Generations Church is a non-denominational church committed to reaching, teaching, encouraging and serving all generations for the cause of Jesus Christ! Our worship is contemporary, our messages are relevant, and our people are very friendly! Our church has a passion for helping people discover who they are in Christ, what their God-given purpose in life is, and how to live a life that honors and pleases God! We're just ONE BIG FAMILY…loving God, loving people, and living with purpose!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things; that He exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; and that He is totally loving and completely holy.
We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. It alone is the final authority for determining all doctrinal truths.
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God but through voluntary disobedience he sinned and fell; that sin separates each of us from God and His purpose for our lives; and that Jesus Christ is the only One who can reconcile us to God. We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin; that He was crucified and died in order that we may be forgiven of all of our sins and be able to be in right relationship with God; that He was buried and rose again in three days to prove victory over death and to empower us in life. We believe in the salvation of sinners through grace and faith; that salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or any human effort; and that we can receive forgiveness when we repent of our sins, believe in Jesus Christ, and confess that He is our Lord and Savior.
We believe that Jesus commands each believer to be baptized in water; that water baptism is not the means of salvation, but an act of worship and obedience following salvation; and that full-immersion is the most accurate biblical demonstration.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit; that it is a separate experience from salvation and water baptism that initiates a decisively new awareness of the all-powerful presence of God working in one's life and usually involves one or more spiritual gifts; that it is a promise of our Heavenly Father to all believers; and that it is administered by prayer and the laying on of hands by another spirit-filled believer.
We believe that God has equipped each of us so that we can successfully achieve God's purpose for our lives which is to worship God, find and fulfill our role in the Church, and serve the community in which we live.
We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or Hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
WHERE WE'VE BEEN
Pastors Bob & Tammy Brydon founded Generations Church in August 2003 after being actively involved in local church ministry, in both lay and pastoral staff positions, in several large Austin-area churches. Meeting in their home on Sunday nights with 12 families, they began praying and pursuing God for direction.
Our first official public worship service was held at Oakwood Community Church in Cedar Park, TX on Sunday, October 12, 2003. In our first year of ministry, our church grew from 12 families to 30 families meeting on Sunday nights at Oakwood. Inspired by Rick Warren's "Purpose Driven Church" model and the "40 Days of Purpose" campaign, our church committed to being a healthy and effective New Testament church and fulfilling the "Great Commission" and "Great Commandment". It's from these two great scriptural mandates that our motto - Loving God, Loving People and Living With Purpose - was birthed.
In January 2005, Generations Church began meeting on Sunday mornings at Summit Christian Academy in Leander, TX. At this present location, we have grown from 30 to 100 families and are excited about what God is doing in our church!
WHERE WE'RE HEADED
As we continue to grow, our plans for the future include building a church facility on the 33-acre tract of land we purchased (located near the intersection of Hwy 183-A and FM 2243) in April 2009. For more details, click here: Future Campus Please join us in praying for this next phase to become a reality!
We also have a dream to build a Christian Camp/Retreat Center that would host summer camps, family and church retreats, and other ministry and outreach events for the church community in and around the Austin area.
And as God directs, we would love to plant other churches in communities around the Austin and Central Texas area.
